Quick Start

Get AgentStash up and running in under 2 minutes. Set up your sync folder and start syncing your AI tool configs.

This guide will help you set up AgentStash and sync your first configs in under 2 minutes.

Make sure you have:

  • AgentStash installed on your Mac
  • At least one AI coding tool installed (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.)
  • A cloud folder ready (iCloud, Dropbox, or any folder you can access from multiple devices)
  1. Open AgentStash

Launch AgentStash from your Applications folder. On first launch, AgentStash will automatically scan your system for installed AI tools.

  2. Review detected tools

AgentStash shows you all the AI coding tools it found on your system, along with their config locations and resource types (Rules, Skills, Commands, etc.).

  3. Choose your sync folder

Click Choose Sync Folder and select where you want AgentStash to store your synced configs:

    • iCloud Drive — Recommended for Apple users
    • Dropbox — Works across all platforms
    • Any folder — Use a Git repo, NAS, or any shared folder
  4. Push your configs

Click Sync Now to push your current configs to the sync folder. AgentStash will:

    • Create a snapshot (backup) of your configs
    • Copy them to your sync folder
    • Set up symlinks so your tools continue working
  1. Install AgentStash

Download and install AgentStash on your other device.

  2. Select the same sync folder

Point AgentStash to the same cloud folder you used on your first device.

  3. Pull your configs

Click Sync Now to pull your configs from the cloud. AgentStash will:

    • Download your configs
    • Rebuild the directory structure
    • Create symlinks to connect your AI tools

That’s it! Your AI tool configs are now synced across both devices.

Whenever you make changes to your AI tool configs:

  1. Open AgentStash
  2. Click Sync Now
  3. Your changes are pushed to the cloud

On other devices, do the same to pull the latest changes.

If configs have changed on multiple devices, AgentStash will:

  • Show you a visual diff of the differences
  • Let you choose which version to keep
  • Or merge changes manually

Made a mistake? Every sync creates a snapshot:

  1. Open AgentStash
  2. Go to History
  3. Select a previous snapshot
  4. Click Restore
